I chose to present these pest control summer projects because they showcase not only my growth in the industry with increasing roles and responsibilities, but the invaluable and transferable skillset acquired in the process. In this portfolio I go through various rhetorical strategies I implemented through training and developed through trial and error. I’ll take you through my first door to door summer sales experience as a Sales Rep in the residential market and bring you to my last year in the industry as a Business Development Representative in the commercial field.

Throughout my time in the industry, I learned various verbal, meta-verbal, and non-verbal communication techniques alongside skills necessary for managing and motivating small and large sales teams. As someone interested in entering the field of strategic alliances, this skillset is directly applicable as strategic alliance roles require both analytical strategy and persuasive communication. While I am currently working to develop hard skills in identifying and evaluating potential partnership opportunities by gaining a greater background in business through education, I am confident I possess, through unfathomable amounts of rejection and a proven track record of success, the skills required to present these opportunities in a compelling way to prospective partners.

Now, if I could go back in time and do these projects all over again, I would have spent more time developing those I trained in a more adaptive and interpersonal way.
